Check ListWhen beginning a new website design project one of the hardest things to often do is obtain the needed design and development assets from the client. To help you prepare for your new website project and kick start the process, following is a list of critical items to consider and assets to gather together.

Website Hosting: Determine who will be hosting the website. Your website development team can make recommendations based on your website features and data storage requirements.

Design Assets: Website design elements such as company logo, company colors, fonts and photos to help the designer develop a dynamic layout and design.

Website Verbiage / Written Content: Provide sufficient keyword rich content for SEO purposes. Company or product features should be benefits oriented and a professional marketing writer should be used if needed.

Keywords and Phrases: For SEO purposes provide your web development team with a list of keywords and keyword phrases. This allows the SEO specialist to provide recommendations for enhancements and to add these into the page code as the site is being built.

For Design Reference: Provide links to competitor sites that you like or want to emulate. Giving the designer a direction will help expedite the custom design process.

By pulling these few items together you will give your web development team the needed information to begin designing and expeditiously build out your website.
